은연어(Oncorhynchus kisutch)는 제약 조건이 해상 가두리 양성이 아니라 저수온이나 순환여과식 시스템일 때 부화장이 선택하는 연어과 어종입니다. 담수 RAS에서 대서양연어보다 빠르게 상품 크기에 도달하고, 해당 시스템이 실제로 운전되는 수온 범위를 견딥니다. 한국과 일본의 부화장 프로그램이 이 어종을 채택해 온 이유입니다.
발안란은 배아가 취급을 견딜 수 있게 되는 발안 단계에 출고합니다. 그 이전에는 아예 운송이 불가능합니다. 단열 상자에 담아 냉장 온도로 데이터 로거와 함께 항공 운송하며, 도착 즉시 최소한의 온도 충격으로 부화기에 바로 투입합니다. 취급 및 부화 지침도 함께 제공됩니다 — 도착 시 수온 순치, 부화 수온, 해당 배치의 적산온도 기준입니다.
