Hatchery supply is a scheduling problem before it is a purchasing one. This category covers fertilized salmonid ova — Atlantic and Coho — and the decapsulated Artemia cysts used at first feeding. Both have to arrive inside a window rather than simply arrive.

Ova ship at the eyed stage, the point at which the embryo tolerates handling; before that they cannot travel at all. They move by air freight in insulated boxes at chilled temperature with data loggers, and go straight into the incubator on arrival with minimal thermal shock. Because they ship against the source hatchery's stripping and eyeing calendar, volumes are best reserved months ahead of the incubation window — this is the one line we cannot pull forward on request.

Minimum order is around 50,000 eggs. Every consignment carries the health certification its origin authority issues, covering the pathogens listed for that species and destination, with screening done at the source hatchery under its own veterinary supervision. Handling and incubation guidance ships with the ova — tempering on arrival, incubation temperature, and the degree-day expectation to hatch for the species and batch. It is part of the supply, not a paid extra.
