Seafood Export from Türkiye to Europe

Türkiye is one of Europe's closest and most dependable seafood sourcing hubs. We handle sourcing, export documentation and cold-chain logistics for importers, wholesalers and distributors across the EU.

Species available for export

Türkiye-origin farmed species, exported fresh or frozen. Each is a live catalogue entry — open it for specifications, formats and packaging.

Other Mediterranean species on request — tell us what you need and we will confirm availability.

Formats and availability

Fresh (chilled) Frozen
  • · Availability is seasonal and depends on harvest planning; we confirm what can ship before you commit to an order.
  • · Size grades, presentation and packaging are agreed against your requirement rather than fixed here.

Who we supply

Seafood importers

Container and air-freight consignments with the documentation your border control post expects.

Wholesale distributors

Repeat programmes at agreed grades, so what arrives matches what you sold forward.

Foodservice & HORECA

Portion-consistent supply where reliability of delivery matters more than headline price.

Regional & international traders

A sourcing and export partner in Türkiye handling the producer end on your behalf.

Export compliance and documentation

Consignments are prepared to the animal-health and food-safety requirements of the destination market. What travels with a shipment is listed here — nothing is claimed that a document cannot show.

What ships with every consignment

Health & veterinary certificates: Issued by the competent authority for the destination market, not by us.
Full batch traceability: Every consignment ties back to its production and testing records by lot.
Export labelling & documentation: Commercial designation, scientific name, origin and production method, per EU labelling rules.
Destination-specific requirements: Paperwork aligned to the importing country's rules and its designated entry point.
Temperature-monitored transport: Cold chain held from harvest through to delivery, with the record available on arrival.

Why source from Türkiye

Türkiye supplies a large share of Europe's farmed Mediterranean finfish, and sits close enough to serve EU markets on short lead times. We act as your sourcing and export partner on the ground, managing the process from producer to destination.

Exporting outside the EU?
  • Proximity: Short transit to European markets, by road and by air, which matters most for chilled product.
  • Established aquaculture base: A mature farming and processing sector built around the Aegean, geared to export.
  • Competitive production: Scale and climate that keep Mediterranean species commercially viable for European buyers.
  • One partner end to end: Sourcing, documentation and logistics handled together, so you deal with us rather than with each producer.

The questions buyers ask us most about this page. The full set, filterable by subject, lives on our FAQ hub.

The consignment must come from an EU-approved establishment, travel with a veterinary health certificate, be pre-notified in TRACES and enter through a designated border control post. We prepare that documentation set as part of the shipment; your side is the import declaration and the clearance at the post.Export to Europe

TRACES is the European Commission's online system for notifying and certifying consignments of animals and products of animal origin entering the EU. Our EU-bound seafood is pre-notified through it, which is what allows the border control post to process the consignment against a certificate it can already see.

A commercial invoice and packing list, a health or veterinary certificate for products of animal origin, a certificate of origin, and the certificate of analysis or technical datasheet for the batch. EU-bound consignments are additionally pre-notified through TRACES. Any extra document your import permit names is added to that set.

By whichever the cargo tolerates. Eyed ova, fresh fish and HORECA orders go by air freight because hours matter. Frozen seafood, Artemia cysts, microalgae powder and feed ingredients travel by reefer or dry container, which is materially cheaper per kilo and perfectly safe for those products.

Import clearance is the buyer's side of the transaction under the Incoterms we normally trade on, but we supply the complete document set the clearance depends on, and we will work directly with your broker or forwarder. For border-inspection posts we have shipped through before, we can tell you in advance what that post typically asks for.

Yes. The HS code, product description and document list are given with the quotation, before you commit, so your broker can check the tariff treatment and any import permit requirement while the offer is still open rather than when the cargo has already left.

Türkiye is one of the Mediterranean's largest producers of farmed sea bass and sea bream, and İzmir sits within reach of both the Aegean farming region and an international airport. That combination is what makes daily fresh air freight to the Gulf and short reefer transit into Europe practical from one origin.
